50 Cent Ringtones

Born in 1975 as Curtis Jackson - 50 Cent lived a life of hustling, drugs and shooting before finally turning his back on the gangster lifestyle in favour of gangster rap.

So adept is he of creating catchy lyrics and hooks that he looks set to become one of the most famous icons of the noughties. Signed earlier in his career by Columbia records he was dropped after being shot nine times but thanks to the intervention of Eminem, the problem child, raised in a rough area of Queens, New York landed his first recording contract in 1993. His pulsating debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' featured such timeless classics as "In Da Club", PIMP and 21 questions.

This release followed his appearance with Eminem on the soundtrack to Eight Mile on which he contributed to the songs "Wanksta," "Love Me" and "Places To Go." In March 2005 he surpassed his first album with The Massacre. Helped on the record by Dr Dre and Eminem, he produced wonderful songs such as Candy Shop, Just A Lil Bit and Outta Control.

In late 2005 50 Cent released his first film Get Rich or Die Trying'. Many will hope it will be his last. He is not the first pop real tones star of his day to try and cash in their fame to make a quick buck. Whitney Houston starred in Bodyguard and Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and The Spice Girls all starred in movie flops.
