Arctic Monkeys Ringtones and Real Tones With driving unique songs, exceptional live performances, a recent UK Number One single and lyrics such as "..there's only music so that there's new ringtones" The Arctic Monkeys look set to take the world by storm in 2006.
Gifted guitars in 2002 for Christmas, brothers Alex and James Cook soon became proficient on their instruments and were soon joined by Andy Nicholson (bass) and Matt Helgers on drums.
Influenced by groups such as The Who, The Jam, The Clash and The Smiths they also have respect for Oasis, System Of A Down and QTSA.
Early gigs were around their home town of Sheffield and their reputation soon spread through internet demos and free cds.
Soon strange things started happening at their gigs with hardcore fans travelling from throughout the country and the Arctic Monkeys found it strange when the crowd were singing back lyrics of a previously unreleased track.
Fresh tunes such as Fake Tales of San Francisco and I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor coupled with a raw and distinct live performance should ensure more ringtone success for the Arctic Monkeys in the years to come.
Their second will be When The Sun Goes Down to be released on January 16 2006.
Their debut album was released at the end of January 2006 and is called 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.'
