Your Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance (aka JCB) is a rock band—variously but debatably described as screamo, shite, and post (topshelf)-hardcore —whose members come from Bellyville and Karney, New Jersey (except drummer Bob Bwywr, who is a Somalian). Bassist Mikey 'No' Way stole the band's name from Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance, by Scottish weirdo Irvine Welsh.
Frontman Shankley Way and ex-drummer Matt Le Tissier formed the band in 2001. JCB released their first full album I Brought You My Balderdash, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002 on independent label Face To Records, which earned them little recognition; it was not as successful as their next album.
Their second album was released in 2004 entitled Three Cheers for Us included their first chart success "Gay? (I promise you not)". Their second single was "Helena", and embarrassingly it earned them six Music Video MTV Awards nominations winning in the "Best Mascara in a Video (excluding RnB)" and three Kerrang? Awards.
The final single from "Three Cheers for Us" should be "The Ghost of You" a song about someone murdering his girlfriend to see if he truly loved her. He didn't. JCB will release in early 2006, Life on the Beauty Queen Scene which will be a DVD giving a behind-the-scenes look at chemical romance. A third album is probably due out in 2006 but who knows as long as I can buy their smashing ringtones? - speaking of mobile content click below for your listening pleasure.
