Born Omari Ishmael Grandberry in Inglewood California, Omarion was a member of the boy band B2K until going solo in 2004. That band scored success with songs such as Uh Huh, Bump Bump Bump (with P Diddy), Babadoom and Girlfriend. His debut album simply entitled O to save production costs sold well in the US when released in Jan 2005.

His silky smooth voice has endeared him to many R&B fans on both sides of the Atlantic and is expected to have a successful career in the years to come.

He courted controversy in 2005 after the London bombings when a press release in his name asked for fans to 'prey' for him. He was, however, nowhere near the sight of the fatal bombings - just somewhere in London. He was ridiculed by internet communities shortly afterwards with people being urged to 'prey' for him in the light of Hurricane Katrina, the Bagdhad bridge disaster and even the Paris riots.

His three ringtones and real tones to date are "O", Touch and I'm Tryna (meaning I'm trying to rather than being pronounced I'm Trina)
